Online Course Hydrolats "Cornflower"

Online course at your own pace!
Unlimited availability, you can start anytime!

We are working hard to establish online courses in English. Unfortunately, until now our online courses are only available in Dutch.

The following parts are included:
  • Access to student portal where you can download the two correspondence lessons;
  • Recipes for therapeutic, cosmetic and culinary uses;
  • 30+ plus various hydrolats fall under the two classes;
  • 12 extensive hydrolat profiles;
  • Certificate of participation.

This online course has been developed by FytArom - School for Clinical Aromatherapy - in collaboration with j'Olie et Co Aromatherapy. Janet Nienhuis (owner and senior teacher of FytArom, and certified, registered Aromatherapist, Phytotherapist and Massage Therapist) will present this online course. The lessons are not only based on the current state of science, but also practical, experiential, empirical and clinically substantiated.

j'Olie et Co imports hydrosols from various countries around the world. These high-quality hydrolats are distilled "one to one". This means that only one liter of hydrolat is tapped on one kilogram of raw material (plant material) during the distillation. The plant material is of biological origin (except the jasmine). The hydrolats are suitable for food use, except for the hydrolat of cornflower (cosmetic use) and jasmine.

Hydrolats are by definition the product of steam distillation of fresh plant material. Hydrolats contain water-soluble, volatile plant components, rich in water-soluble components and - practically - free of lipophilic substances such as terpene hydrocarbons. The smell and taste are determined by the water-soluble, hydrophilic components of the plant in the hydrolat. It is distilled water which is the water-soluble parts of a plant and contains a multitude of active ingredients.
