Marigold, also known as calendula, is native to southern Europe, North Africa, and western Asia. It is native to central and northern Europe and is best known as a widespread garden plant. The mostly annual marigold is a 30-60-centimeter-tall plant with a branched stem and hairy, succulent green leaves. It bears orange-yellow flowers and blooms from May to November. fully unfolded flowers are collected for marigold water. they are distilled fresh or dried. It has a delicate floral, spicy, herbal, warm fragrance.

Calendula hydrolat is used as a wound spray as well as for skin care. It is a skin tonic, regenerating, soothing and moisturizing. It is particularly suitable for the care and cleansing of dry, irritated, and inflamed skin and for acne.

Applied as a compress, calendula hydrolat soothes inflamed, irritated eyes. Mixed in equal parts with chamomile water, it forms a nourishing, skin-soothing spray for acne treatment.

Marigold hydrolat is great for baby care. It is an herbal-scented, skin-caring, wound-healing base for aftershaves.
Calendula hydrolat should not be used if you have a known allergy to calendula. It can cause allergic irritation of the skin. If only the appearance of the marigolds and not the whole marigolds are used in the production of calendula water or tincture, there is less chance of allergic skin reactions.
