Shea butter, which is very rich in unsaponifiable ingredients and vitamins, is indispensable in your grooming products: it protects, softens, and restructures damaged skin. Processed in your hair preparations, it nourishes and adds shine and beauty to hair.

This Shea butter is of raw, non-deodorized, non-refined and non-bleached quality. The appearance and smell may therefore vary from batch to batch. The latest batch currently being processed looks very raw, with a rather beige colour, darker than our usual batches, and a distinctive fragrance, more pronounced than usual batches, with notes of slightly roasted seeds.

The fleshy fruit resembles a small avocado. The sweet, edible flesh contains a nut in the middle, which, when pressed, yields Shea butter. This butter has been widely used in certain regions of Africa for centuries for its many virtues. And is particularly recommended to soothe sprains, pain, and rheumatism.

It is deodorized by simply drying it in the sun, following a traditional and ancestral technique mastered by the women of the village, without the use of solvents or water vapor. Organic shea butter is thus naturally stripped of its acidic fragrance, without any temperature increase, and retains all its benefits.

Shea butter is extracted from the fruit of the Shea tree, which only grows wild in the savannahs of West Africa. The tree can grow more than 12 metres tall, and the stem can be up to 2 metres wide.

It is yellow in colour and has a relatively light fragrance with a hint of almond. It has a rich texture and feels melty to the touch.
Shea butter helps treat various skin problems, including arthritis, inflamed skin, sinus infection, acne, stretch marks, wrinkled skin, skin breakouts, flaky and itchy skin (psoriasis), insect bites, acne and many more. It is used in making various types of cosmetic products.

Shea butter known for its luxurious moisturizing properties and also exhibits natural sun-protective properties.

It is a waxy solid butter at room temperature; oily above 34°C.
