Our organically crafted Grapefruit Oil is cold pressed from the lusciously fragrant rinds of the Citrus paradisi fruit harvested from orchards in the South African countryside. Reviving, uplifting, and imparting emotional buoyancy, our Grapefruit Essential Oil has a fresh, light, citrusy, sweet, slightly bitter aroma, with a rather pithy note in the drydown, thanks to certain chemical constituents found only in Grapefruits.

Grapefruit Oil, like all citrus peel oils, have a predominance of Limonene, the bright, lemony monoterpene that provides an absolute delightful aroma when diffused to refresh and disinfect room environments. Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) is a hybrid of Pomelo (Citrus maxima) and Sweet Orange (Citrus x sinensis). Its olfactory character is almost entirely attributed to powerful trace components, most notably Nootkatone and traces of a sulfur-containing compound.

Apart from being an exceptionally refreshing purifier, Grapefruit Oil is renowned for its broad spectrum of uplifting effects on the body and mind. Grapefruit Essential Oil is useful when looking to support minor pain and inflammation relief, to help build up the immune system, as a lymphatic stimulant, and as a tonic for promoting healthy skin. Like other astringent citrus oils, Grapefruit Oil is believed to restore smoothness and suppleness and to beautify the skin.

Emotionally and energetically, Grapefruit Essential Oil is uplifting and cleansing. This essential oil promotes positive energy and is a welcome comfort when dealing with tension and situational depression. A mild euphoric, Grapefruit Essential Oil can soothe and uplift the emotions and spirit and help balance a tired and overstimulated nervous system. Its light, zesty aromatic profile imparts those same qualities upon inhalation.

Contraindications & other details: 
May be mildly photositizing. It is highly unlikely, tough remote possible, that grapefruit oil will interfere with enzymes responsible for metabolizing medications. The risk increases with oral administration, as opposed to topical application.

May cause mild skin and eye irritation. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Keep out of reach of children. May be harmful if swallowed or enters airways. May cause long lasting harmful effects to aquatic life. In case of contact with skin, wash with plenty of soap and water. In case of skin irritation, rash, or ingestion, consult a doctor immediately. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with whole milk or a neutral base oil such as olive oil or sunflower oil and consult a doctor immediately.
