This online course has been developed by FytArom - School for Clinical Aromatherapy - in collaboration with j'Olie et Co Aromatherapy. Janet Nienhuis, owner and associate professor of FytArom, is a certified and registered Aroma, Phyto, and Massage Therapist, will present this online course. Lessons are not only based on the current state of affairs in science, but also practical, experiential, and empirically and clinically substantiated.

j'Olie et Co imports hydrosols from several countries around the world.
These quality hydrosols are "one-on-one" distilled. This means that during the distillation, only one liter of hydrosol is tapped on one kilogram of raw material (plant material). The plant material is of biological origin (except for the Jasmine). The hydrosols are suitable for food use, except for the hydrosol of Cornflower (cosmetic use) and Jasmine.

Hydrosols are by definition the product of steam distillation of fresh plant material. Hydrosols contain water-soluble, volatile plant components, rich in water-soluble components and - practically - free of lipophilic substances such as terpene hydrocarbons. The scent and taste are determined by the water-soluble, hydrophilic components of the plant in the hydrosol. It is distillated water that are the water-soluble parts of a plant and contains a multitude of active ingredients.

If you are interested in a more extensive online course on hydrosols, please also check the courses “Helicryse” and “Roos”!
