100% natural, highly concentrated and effective even in low doses

CO2 extracts are stable and versatile. Due to the number of constituents with highly beneficial properties not found in essential oils, CO2 extracts are often used in body care products, supplements and, of course, aromatherapy.

Our CO2 extracts are Organic, Halal, Kosher, or Cosmos certified.

CO2 extracts exhibit some of the characteristics of essential oils. Like essential oils, they contain many beneficial therapeutic properties. They are extracted with CO2 gas (carbon dioxide) under pressure at ambient temperature. Under normal atmospheric conditions, CO2 is a gas, but when highly compressed, it becomes supercritical - neither a gas nor a liquid.

Highly volatile top notes are not lost, and base notes of less volatile and sensitive oxygenated sesquiterpenes are also fully retained. Hydrolysis of monoterpene esters or the loss of monoterpene alcohols in the heart notes is also largely avoided during extraction.

Another impressive advantage of CO2 extraction is that once the oil is extracted from the plant material, the supercritical CO2 is returned to its gaseous state at normal air pressure, disappearing quickly and completely and without generating toxic waste! A highly sustainable and environmentally friendly method of extraction. That many of the CO2 extracts have a significantly more pleasant smell than the distilled variety is an added bonus.
Below you will find a brief description of the uses and properties of the CO2 extracts from our starter kit;

Frankincense Carterii CO2 extract
Strongly relaxing, very calming, harmonizing and sleep promoting. Frankincense Carterii essential oil has a resinous frankincense base note, rounded out by lemon, camphor and woody paw notes with a slightly sweet, spicy nuance and a hint of orange.

Marjoram Leaf CO2 extract
Marjoram is used as a traditional herbal remedy to treat mild gastrointestinal complaints and irritated skin around the nose. For headaches, dizziness, convulsive coughs, and colds. Its antioxidant properties prolong shelf life of fats and oils. It also has a calming and refreshing effect.

Cinnamon Burmanii CO2-to extract
Warms and reassures and has a vitalizing effect. Reminiscent of grandmother's apple pie. On ice-cold hands and feet, it has a warming effect, as well as on colds and flu. Purifies the atmosphere when evaporated. The extract is often used in toothpaste or mouthwash.

Chamomile CO2-to extract
Calms, relaxes, and soothes. Calms nerves and is strongly decongestant and soothing. Promotes and soothes digestion. Regenerates and protects the skin and mucous membranes. Due to its beneficial and deodorizing properties, chamomile extract can be used as an additive in cleansing and personal care products such as skin creams, body lotions, soaps, deodorants and in oral care products. German Chamomile is liquid at 40°C.

Ginger CO2-to Extract
Ginger is very analgesic and works well for nausea. It improves blood circulation and helps relieve tension. Use it in massage oils or a relaxing bath. It is also suitable as a fragrance in perfumes, deodorant, shower gel and shampoos.
