Roman chamomile is a low-growing evergreen perennial, native to North Africa and Western Europe. Chamaemelum nobile was formerly classified by the Latin name Anthemis nobilis. Roman chamomile is a creeping plant. The flowers have a yellow centered center with daisy-like white petals. It blooms all summer and into early fall. The leaves are pinnate, creeping and are reminiscent of apples when bruised.

Contraindications: High doses can enhance the effect of blood-thinning medication because of the coumarins. For those with known sensitivities to other members of the Asteraceae (Compositae) family (including ragweed, daisies, and chrysanthemums), topical application of chamomile or chamomile products should be avoided (*)
