About Cinnamon
Cinnamon is one of the world's oldest spices. It is mentioned in the Bible under the name 'quesiah'.
The ancient Egyptians are known to use cinnamon to ward off epidemics.
Arab traders supplied the herb to the Greeks and Romans and tried to keep the herb's origin a secret. That worked for several centuries, but the Portuguese found cinnamon while discovering the new sailing route around the Cape to India and Ceylon in the 16th century.

Cinnamon oil production technology has changed little over history. The distillate is still obtained through the methods introduced by the early Dutch settlers who occupied Ceylon, present day Sri Lanka, until CO2 extraction was invented.

Properties:
Cinnamon extracts have antibacterial and antifungal properties. Warming and reassuring and has a vitalizing effect. A deliciously sweet extract reminiscent of grandmother's apple pie.

Application:
It has a warming effect on icy hands and feet, but also with colds and flu. Purifies the atmosphere and gives a homely "old-fashioned" atmosphere when evaporating. Can be used both internally (*) and externally.

The cinnamon extract can be used as a flavoring in chewing gum, confectionery, beverages and other foods, especially as a spice extract in baked goods.

Due to its aromatic taste, cinnamon extract is suitable as a fragrance in the perfume industry and other cosmetic products. The extract is often used in toothpaste or mouthwash.

(*) Caution is advised when taking in combination with anticoagulants!

Use: Add a few drops on a tissue, in an aroma diffuser, or inhaler. Do not use cinnamon extract in the bath. Make sure that the correct dosage is used! When in doubt, always consult an expert, certified, aromatherapist.
