Amyris

Latin name: Amyris balsamifera

Raw material: Wood and Branches
Extraction: Steam distillation
Certification: Organic
Origin: Haiti
INCI Name: AMYRIS BALSAMIFERA BARK OIL
Fragrance: Soft, woody, sweet, balsamic aroma reminiscent of Sandalwood
Color: Pale yellow to amber colored, slightly viscous liquid
Storage: Store in a dark, cool dry space
Content: 10ml.
Brand: j'Olie et Co Aromatherapy

Characteristics: This organically crafted Amyris Essential Oil is steam distilled from the heartwood and branches of the small evergreen Amyris balsamifera tree native to Asia, Haiti, and other Caribbean islands, as well as Central America. With its dry, earthy, balsamic aroma, Amyris Essential Oil has become popular as a key ingredient in natural perfumes, being noted for its calming nature, as well as for its anti-aging properties in skin care.

Indigenous to Haiti, Amyris is of great value to locals who use it for firewood and, since the hard-grained, dense wood is heavy with aromatic resins, branches serve as excellent, bright-burning torches. Amyris is also sometimes called West Indian Sandalwood; however, its properties are different, and it is not botanically related to true Sandalwood Oil. These two wood-based oils have very different top note aromas but do have similar woody dry out notes. They can be used in the same ways when fragrance blending but are not suitable substitutes for use in aromatherapy.

Applications & Properties:
Chemically, sesquiterpene alcohols dominate most of Amyris Oil's composition making it exceptionally safe and non-irritating. For this reason, you'll often find it in skin care products as well as in natural perfumes. It can also help regenerate skin cells, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and add elasticity to the skin. Amyris is also an anti-inflammatory agent that may provide relief from mild inflammation such as insect bites, contact irritations or other skin conditions. Amyris Oil is often used to ease unwanted muscle spasms and help with minor pain and inflammation management. Amyris Essential Oil is also extensively added in soap perfumes, as it blends well with other oils and substances such as Lavandin Oil, Coumarin, Citronella Oils and Oakmoss products.

An inexpensive and sustainable alternative to Sandalwood, Amyris Essential Oil is calming and nourishing to the heart as well as the nervous system. The benefits of Amyris Oil include reducing the stress levels, releasing tension, bringing mental clarity, and encouraging motivation during times of anxiety, stress, and depression. The calming, sedative properties also help promote sleep for those who suffer from insomnia.

Allergens:  No allergens (EU Cosmetics Regulation, 2003/15)

Contraindications & other details:
There is little scientific research on West Indian Sandalwood oil. Therefore, do not use the oil during the first three months of pregnancy, from the third month of pregnancy, the oil can be spread sparingly. You should avoid the oil in babies and children under 6 years old. In the perfume industry, the oil is used as a base note in woody fragrances.

Characteristic: Bergamot is a wizard of the sun and is considered a hybrid between lime and blood orange. Visually, the fruit can be compared to a small green orange. The beauty of the fragrance is due to a rare and harmonious composition of different fragrance components: a combination of fruity sweet with stimulating fresh notes. There is also distilled oil of Bergamot and there is a rectified variant, where the Furo Coumarins (FCF) have been removed. We do not sell either of these variants.

Applications: The scent of bergamot is said to enrich life with happiness and enthusiasm. Bergamot is a classic in aromatherapy and is in the personal top ten of many aromatherapists. Just one breath of this oil will make you "jump in the air" for joy. This sunny oil is both refreshing, calming and uplifting, especially during the long winter months.

BLACK SPRUCE

Latin name: Picea mariana

Raw material: Needles
Extraction: Steam distillation
Certification: Organic
Origin: Canada
INCI Name: PICEA MARIANA (BLACK SPRUCE) NEEDLE OIL
Fragrance: Fresh, penetrating, pine forest-like aroma with balsamic, woody undertones
Color: Colorless to pale yellow liquid
Storage: Store in a dark dry cool place
Content: 10ml.
Brand: j'Olie et Co Aromatherapy

Characteristics: Our organically crafted Black Spruce Essential Oil is steam distilled from the dark green lush needles of the Picea mariana evergreen growing wild in picturesque forests spread across Eastern Canada. Our exquisite Black Spruce Oil has an initially fresh, radiant, penetrating 'fresh forest' aroma with warm, woody, and dry undertones and a soft balsamic note in the dry down.

The powerful Black Spruce Oil has become increasingly popular in aromatherapy, alongside the other needle oils like Fir and Pine, probably because they share similarly invigorating aromas and the remarkable energetics of the great coniferous forests of the world. One of our favorite ways to use this essential oil is in blends formulated to help promote healthy lung function and encourage clear breathing.

Applications & Properties:
In addition to having decongestant, expectorant, and mucolytic properties, which help with lung and sinus issues, Black Spruce Essential Oil is often used when looking to reduce the presence of unwanted microbes and ease undesirable muscle spasms. Black Spruce Essential Oil is also welcome when looking to reduce minor pain and inflammation and is often a much-appreciated element in a rejuvenating massage blend. Emotionally and energetically, Black Spruce Essential Oil relaxes and calms. This essential oil encourages soft, gentle self-reflection and can help protect from negative energy. It also has a calming and soothing effect that helps reduce nervousness and relieves anxiety and depression. BUDDHA WOOD

Latin name: Eremophila mitchellii

Raw material: Wood
Process: Steam distilled
Certification: Organic
Origin: Australia
INCI Name: EREMOPHILA MITCHELLII WOOD OIL
Fragrance: Woody, balsamic, slightly smoky aroma
Color: Deep coppery reddish-brown color
Storage: Store in a dark and cool place
Content: 10ml.
Brand: j'Olie et Co Aromatherapy

Characteristic: Our organically produced Buddha Wood oil is steam distilled from the heartwood and bark of Eremophila mitchellii, a small tree native to the grassland of Eastern Australia. Also known as Australian Desert Rosewood, this sturdy shrub was traditionally used by the Aborigines of Australia. With its deep woody aroma, thick, viscous texture and deep amber hue, Buddha Wood Essential Oil is often compared to the more common Sandalwood oil, although the chemistry and aroma are completely different.

Eremophila mitchellii was named in 1848 by botanist George Bentham, after Sir Thomas Mitchell, who led the exploration expedition to Australia. The word Eremophila comes from the Greek eremos, meaning desert, and from phileo, meaning love, and indeed, these plants seem to like a desert climate. There is a sense that this tree has had to develop complex resins and oils to protect itself from the harsh climate and ward off countless insatiable predators desperate to drill into the heartwood.

Application & Properties:
Uniquely, Buddha Wood oil is mainly made from the bicyclic sesquiterpenes known as eremophilones. The rare sesquiterpene compounds impart anti-inflammatory properties to this rare and unique oil. With more prominent balsamic and smoke notes, Buddha Wood Essential Oil is a rare and special treat that is sure to inspire creativity in natural perfumes and aromatherapeutic formulas. It is often used in perfumes, especially in sophisticated colognes for men. The energizing, purifying and supportive energy of Buddha Wood oil also works to boost and support the immune system and reduce viral and bacterial activity. This essential oil is often selected for its skin conditioning properties and to relieve unwanted muscle spasms.

Emotionally and energetically, Buddha Wood oil supports deeper meditation and inner unity. This remarkably balancing and grounding oil enriches meditative practice and supports the mindfulness needed to bring focus and clarity when dealing with grief or difficult situations. Using Buddha Wood oil in blends as an aphrodisiac adds depth and complexity

Characteristic: Texas Cedarwood Essential Oil is steam distilled from the aromatic wood of wildcrafted Juniperus mexicana trees native to extreme southwestern Texas and New Mexico and most of Arizona. With its deep, rich, and tenacious woody, balsamic aroma, Texas Cedarwood Oil is used extensively in the perfume industry due to its versatility and being readily available.

Also known as Mountain Cedar, Mexican Cedar or Mexican Juniper, Texas Cedarwood is not a true cedarwood in the sense that it is from trees of the Juniper family. Juniperus mexicana (also known as Juniperus ashei) and has a different chemistry than Himalayan or Atlantic Cedarwood. However, it does have similar therapeutic properties and has that wonderful aroma of a cedar chest.

Applications: Cedarwood Texas Oil has natural sedative properties which can combat insomnia and encourages a restful sleep. This essential oil has antiseptic properties which can assist in treating minor wounds and skin damage by preventing infection and toxins from entering the body. Texas Cedarwood Oil can also help to protect and heal the skin against unsightly acne, eczema, and dermatitis by inhibiting the clogging of pores and protecting it from invasion by toxic particles and bacteria. Cedarwood Oil is also a natural insect repellent as insects such as mosquitos and fleas repel the aroma.

The beautiful well-rounded aroma of Cedarwood Texas Oil makes it a good candidate for uplifting diffuser blends intended to help with anxiety, depression, and nervousness. It has the ability to refresh the mind by creating a positive mindset and eliminating negative emotions. Juniperus Mexicana Oil can also be used to inspire sensual moods, as it has potent aphrodisiac properties.
